FLCC Presents Rochester Area Fiber Artists Show
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Sept. 4, 2008) – The Williams-Insalaco Gallery34 at Finger Lakes Community College will open the gallery season with an exhibition of fiber art by the Rochester Area Fiber Artists (RAFA) from Sept. 18 – Oct. 24, 2008. The exhibit will include the work of seven RAFA members: Anne M. Fischer of Canadice, Sarah Terry of Hamlin, Marcia De Camp of Palmyra, Linda Bachman of Penfield, Joyce Martelli and Debra Roach of Rochester, and Caren Betlinski of Rushville.
Kimberly Babcock Introduced as the First Sustainability Coordinator in the History of Finger Lakes Community College
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Sept. 3, 2008) – Finger Lakes Community College officially introduced Kimberly Babcock as its first-ever Sustainability Coordinator today. Babcock heads FLCC’s “Go Green” initiative, which strives to integrate sustainability into the College’s curriculum, operations, student life, and community outreach efforts.
Finger Lakes Community College Holds Veterans Orientation
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Aug. 28, 2008) – Finger Lakes Community College will hold two orientation sessions for Veterans enrolling at the College, prospective students and their families. The sessions will take place Sept. 3 and Sept. 4.
FLCC Foundation Elects Seven New Members
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (August 19, 2008) – The Finger Lakes Community College Foundation recently elected seven new members to its board of directors: Douglas Mossbrook of Bristol; Anne Galbraith and Rick Herman of Canandaigua; Margaret Farnsworth, Donald Culeton, and Mark Hamilton of Victor; and Margaret Churchill of Walworth. Their terms begin September 1, 2008.
Finger Lakes Community College New Degree in New Media Approved
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (August 18, 2008) – A new Finger Lakes Community College associate in science degree in new media recently received approval from the State University of New York (SUNY) and the New York State Department of Education. The College is currently accepting applications for this program for the fall 2008 semester. Classes start September 2.
Finger Lakes Community College and Paul Smith’s College Announce a New Partnership
Canandaigua, N.Y. (Aug. 13, 2008) – Top officials from Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) and Paul Smith’s College met at FLCC today to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU will give FLCC students the opportunity to complete a bachelor in science degree in hotel, resort and tourism management from Paul Smith’s College by taking courses with Paul Smith’s instructors at the FLCC campus. The program will be ready for enrollments by the spring 2009.
FLCC Announces Fall 2008 Semester Registration

Finger Lakes Community College Receives Two Prestigious Literacy Grants
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (August 12, 2008) – Finger Lakes Community College recently received two prestigious literacy grants from the New York State Department of Education. The highly competitive grants could be worth as much as a combined $538,192. This is the largest one-time grant supporting adult literacy the college has ever received. The grants will further support and enhance the strong quality of adult education in the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Area, which comprises Ontario, Wayne, Seneca and Yates counties.

FLCC Board of Trustees Approves College’s 2008-2013 Strategic Plan
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (August 5, 2008) – The Finger Lakes Community College Board of Trustees approved the College’s 2008 – 2013 Strategic Plan today. The five-year plan focuses on fostering a learning-centered environment, making higher education accessible for more students, operating efficiently, and improving the quality of education and the quality of life in the Finger Lakes region.
